Our 10-week Summer Associate program is designed to provide aspiring litigators with an immersive experience in trial and litigation work. We offer a unique environment where summer associates work closely with partners and associates on the firm’s active client matters. This program emphasizes skill development in litigation while fostering a sense of ownership and accomplishment in every project.
A cornerstone of our program is the mentorship and guidance provided by our attorneys. Each summer associate is paired with a partner and an associate mentor who offers personalized feedback, support, and training throughout the summer. Our firm environment encourages direct and open communication, allowing summer associates to build relationships with our attorneys and receive in-depth insights into the practice. In addition to work assignments, social events and networking opportunities, summer associates will leave with valuable experience, professional skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the litigation landscape.

“I really wanted to join a smaller firm because I think you get more responsibility earlier on. When I interviewed, there was so much energy and excitement, and I wanted to be a part of that. I think there was a tremendous amount of care and thought that went into planning this summer program. We were setting the precedent for future summer classes and how future summer programs will go, so there was a lot of attention to detail and big picture attention. 'Hit the ground running' is an apt way of describing the program, as well as the projects we were assigned this summer. You really get involved in the cases that you're working on immediately, and you can see there's a tangible contribution you make to the cases. It's scary, it's exciting, and it really shapes you. I believe that it's going to help me become an attorney.” - Harry Schiller, 2L Summer Associate (2025 inaugural summer class)

“I joined EBM’s summer program because a trial boutique was ideal for me. I wanted that kind of high impact work. I knew that in a smaller firm there would be more opportunities for me to do meaningful work. Of the trainings we had, the trial skills workshop was great. The professor we were working with was fantastic and really good at giving feedback. What was also impressive was the constructive feedback I received from my fellow summers. The firm is very collegial in the sense that I always felt welcome to introduce ideas and give and receive feedback. My experience at EBM confirmed what I wanted to do with law. I thought I would enjoy litigation. I had a suspicion I would enjoy contract law or be interested in corporate law. It turns out I’m very interested in litigation, just based on my assignments this summer. EBM really gave me confidence in my legal career.”
- Luke Seminara, 1L Summer Associate (2025 inaugural summer class)
