Garrett Gerber’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation matters. Garrett has litigated disputes in confidential arbitration and federal and state courts across practice areas, including contract disputes, securities and corporate governance matters, bankruptcy-related litigation, securities and corporate governance matters, and employment disputes.
Prior to joining the firm, Garrett served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael A. Chagares of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and to the Honorable P. Kevin Castel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Garrett earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School, where he was a publishing editor of the Cornell Law Review.

- Represented an asset management firm in a confidential arbitration concerning a former partner’s termination and compensation.
- Represented a technology services provider in confidential arbitrations involving complex contractual disputes with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake.
- Represented an energy company in a confidential international arbitration concerning the importation of oil-related products, obtaining an award in the client’s favor.
- Represented a global law firm as co-counsel in a confidential JAMS arbitration, successfully defending against malpractice claims brought by a former client.
- Represented the Trustee of holders of Contingent Value Rights in a lawsuit against Bristol-Myers Squibb seeking $6.4 billion arising from Bristol-Myers Squibb’s failure to exercise diligent efforts in obtaining FDA approval of life-saving cancer therapies.
- Represented executives of a publicly traded healthcare company as co-counsel against claims brought by a former employee who alleged he was wrongfully terminated. The action was dismissed at the motion to dismiss phase.
