Ella Epstein earned her J.D. at Columbia Law School, where she was a Kent Scholar and the Executive Articles Editor of the Columbia Business Law Review. Prior to rejoining Elsberg Baker & Maruri, she clerked for Chief Judge Martin Glenn of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. She also interned for the Honorable Paul A. Engelmayer of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and for the Honorable Robert D. Sack of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Representative Matters

• Represented Sol Goldman Investments, LLC in a dispute concerning contractual put rights; obtained complete dismissal of all counts filed against the company.
• Represented Fairstead in arbitration against a former executive; the arbitrator rejected the executive’s claims and found there was overwhelming evidence that the executive breached his employment agreement and fiduciary duties.
• Represented the former stockholders of the robotic medical devices company Auris Health against Johnson & Johnson in a trial in the Delaware Court of Chancery in an earn-out dispute centered around Johnson & Johnson’s post-merger failures to achieve regulatory and net-sales milestones, resulting in a verdict of over $1 billion for breach of contract and fraud.
